Attending a packing party tomorrow for Operation Christmas Child. This is how it works: Various supplies are on designated tables and the packer picks one item from each table, then fits it into a shoebox. (Normally, the contents include hygine supplies, socks, a toy, school supplies and candy.) The box is shipped to a needy child, somewhere on our globe. Great idea, huh? It’s not just putting a band-aid on a bullet wound. The boxes are delivered by local churches and a copy of the gospel is included in each container. If the child decides, he or she can take a Bible study program through OCC and upon graduation, receives a copy of a New Testament, in their native language. I simply cannot say enough good things about Operation Christmas Child / Samaritan’s Purse.
