My Mission

My Mission

To bring awareness to the fatal spinal, complications associated with rheumatoid arthritis orMom 1977 better described as, “rheumatoid disease.” My mission is also to promote MRI’s or neck x-rays for rheumatoid disease patients, especially if they are experiencing symptoms of neck instability. Our family was uninformed, that rheumatoid arthritis could lead to spinal cord syndrome and then, quickly to death.

Eighty-six percent of RA patients have the disease in their spine yet, how many of those patients receive neck imaging as a preventative, diagnostic tool? The statistics are dangerously low.  How many are at the beginning stages of spinal deterioration? From what I’ve read – many. Family members, caregivers, and healthcare workers of those with RA must familiarize themselves with the sign and symptoms of spinal instability in order to get patients early intervention before it’s too late.

One-hundred percent of royalties from Death by Rheumatoid Arthritis are donated to the Rheumatoid Patient Foundation. It’s the best site for RA patients to connect, find support, seek advice and receive compassion. I’m humbled and honored that Kelly Young O’Neill has appointed me to be a Partner and Advisory Board Member for this outstanding organization. For more on RPF go to rheum4us.org

  3. Carla,
Thank you for being obedient to the Lord’s call to bring more awareness to RA. I have RA and am suffering from terrible neck pain that comes and goes just like my flares, but I have been hesitant to mention it to my doctor because it seems there is always something new gone wrong! You have just given me the courage I need to mention this painful problem to my rheumy on the 27th. Thank you!

    1. Hi Shannon,

So very sorry to hear of your neck pain and flares! I am so grateful to God, that my Mother’s story has given you the assertiveness to address this issue with your doctor. I humbly thank you for buying my book. My hopes are that he orders you a neck x-ray to investigate your symptoms. Please keep me updated of his / her findings. Many times, we all feel this twinge of shyness with specialist. (I know I do!) Your comment was an incredible blessing to me, for my book was written for RA patients like yourself, who need answers to unexplained neck / head pain. These answers, as a rule, are not being offered by a variety of uniformed professionals, involved in the treatment of RA suffers.

You will be in my daily prayers. May God bless you in every way!

  4. First of all, I am sorry to hear of the many difficulties you are suffering due to RA! My heart goes out to you. I understand just how frustrated and misunderstood you felt when you did not get the answers that made sense. Thanks to God, you eventually received a correct diagnosis, so that you may now get the medical / homeopathic intervention that you need. (I will be posting some new information on RA helps in the future.) It blesses me to know that my Mom’s story was instrumental in helping you, learn more extensively of the possible complications, associated with RA.

Thank you for the encouraging comment! May God bless you with healing and peace.
